HOLLAND -- Nothing says Thanksgiving quite like the traditional family meal -- turkey, stuffing, green bean casserole, cranberry sauce and pumpkin pie.
For some, part of the tradition is spending hours in the kitchen. For others, it's the rare chance to take the full family out for dinner.
We've compiled a nonexhaustive list of local and national restaurants open on Thanksgiving -- but given the increased need for a reservation, don't forget to call ahead.
Thanksgiving falls on the latest date possible this year -- Thursday, Nov. 28. The holiday fell on Nov. 23 in 2024. The later date happens about every 5-6 years. The next time will be in 2030.
Boatwerks Waterfront Restaurant: 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Thanksgiving Day. Customers are invited to enjoy roast turkey, carved beef and ham, side dishes, desserts and more. Reservations are required. The price is $39 for adults and $16 for children 5-12. Learn more at boatwerksrestaurant.com.

The Kirby Hotel and J Paul's Dining Room: 12-9 p.m. Thanksgiving Day in Douglas. Customers can enjoy meals with turkey ($38), prime rib ($42) or seared salmon ($36), plus traditional fixings like green bean casserole, sweet potatoes and mashed potatoes and gravy. Learn more at thekirbyhotel.com.
The Belvedere Inn and Restaurant: 2:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. Thanksgiving Day in Saugatuck. Enjoy a five-course meal with turkey and traditional holiday fixings. Reservations are required and fill up fast but guests can call and be added to the waitlist. Learn more at thebelvedereinn.com.
