Norman Gregory Courtney It is with deep sadness and love that we announce the passing of Norman Gregory Courtney, a devoted son, brother, and friend, on Wednesday, August 14, 2024, at the age of 63 in his home in Dallas, Texas. Born on March 27, 1961, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Greg was a man whose life was defined by his love of ballooning and animals, his warm friendship, and his sense of humor. A memorial will be held at the Balloon Fiesta Field on March 29th, 2025 at 3:30 PM. Please enter the field from the south end from Alameda, onto Balloon Museum Drive and park near gates 17 and 18. Greg is preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Neida Luthey, his aunt and uncle, Sharon and Earl Luthey, and hundreds of creatures lucky enough to have been his wards. He is survived by father, Norman Courtney, and stepmother, Sue, his mother Neida L. Courtney, brother Forrest Courtney, sister Neida Bueno, brother-in-law Tom Bueno, nephew Adrian Bueno, stepsister Jalene Davis and her husband Kevin Davis, nephew and niece McKenna and Everitt Davis, his two nieces Becky Luthey, her husband Dean, their child Aidan, and Mandy Luthey and Todd.
