Firefighters have slowed the spread of the Hughes Fire in Southern California, increasing the containment of the wildfire to 56 percent by Friday, January 24.
Footage filmed in the mountains outside of Castaic shows dramatic close-up views of the burning landscape and towering smoke clouds, as well as firefighting efforts, including aerial water and fire retardant drops.
