Southern Adventist University announces Meg Jay, PhD, as presenter for the third feature in the Schutte Family Lecture Series. Open to the public, the free lecture titled, "The Defining Decade: Why 30 Is Not the New 20," is Thursday, March 6 at 11 a.m. in Iles P.E. Center on the university campus.
An Aspen Institute speaker, Dr. Jay holds a doctorate in clinical psychology and gender studies from the University of California, Berkeley. With a specialization in twentysomethings spanning 25 years, she has emerged as a leading voice in advocating for decision among young adults. Her TED talk, Why 30 Is Not the New 20, has been viewed more than 13 million times, and The New York Times recently called her the "Patron Saint of Striving Youth."
Books authored by Dr. Jay include bestseller, "The Defining Decade," and soon-to-be-released, "The Twentysomething Treatment," which explores the young adult mental health crisis in America and how to address it. Providing the latest research and practical strategies tailored for college students -- including why she believes the twenties are the most uncertain and difficult decade of life -- Dr. Jay is passionate in sharing what young adults can do to be happier and healthier.
