APPLETON (WLUK) - Residents in Northeast Wisconsin woke up to snow and wind as the first snow of the season hit the region.
The heavy, wet snow left behind slush on roads, packy snow in yards and on driveways and an early morning chore for residents.
In Appleton, 14-year-old Jude Froehlich was tasked with shoveling his neighbors driveway before heading to school.
"We have time before school and we like helping people," Froehlich said.

Just up the road, another resident got the rust and dust off his snow blower.
Around the corner, Jason Khanna took a different approach. Khanna woke up around 5 a.m., saw the snow and decided to play.
"Hey, it's snowing," Khanna thought, "Might as well come out here and make a snowman."
Before the snow turned into rain and slush the first snowfall brought scenes of a white blanket crossing roadways and filling yards, sidewalks and roads.
