Milwaukee man suffers life-threatening injuries in crash with semi in Rubicon

RUBICON, Wis. -- A Milwaukee man suffered serious life-threatening injuries Tuesday evening after a crash with a semi in the town of Rubicon.

Dodge County Sheriff Dale Schmidt said the crash was reported at around 5 p.m. An investigation shows that a 2021 Infinity was heading north on Goodland Road when it ran a stop sign at County Road N. The Infinity was hit by a westbound 2024 Western Star semi and pushed into a ditch on the north side of the road.

The driver of the Infinity, a 23-year-old Milwaukee man, had to be extricated from his vehicle. He was taken from the scene by Hartford Paramedics then flown by Flight For Life to Froedtert Hospital in Wauwatosa. He was later arrested for operating while intoxicated.

The driver of the semi -- a 35-year-old Wheeling, Ill. man -- was not hurt in the crash.

Neither of the drivers' names were released.
