Jonathan Majors' Ex Settles Suit Accusing Former Marvel Actor Of Assault, Defamation

Jonathan Majors' ex-girlfriend Grace Jabbari has dropped her assault and defamation lawsuit against the former Marvel actor after a "favorable settlement" was reached, her attorney said.

Jabbari's civil suit was dismissed Thursday with prejudice, meaning the case can't be filed against him again. Both parties will cover the costs of their own attorneys fees, according to a copy of the suit's dismissal.

"It took tremendous courage for Grace to pursue this case," Jabbari's attorney, Brad Edwards, told HuffPost in a statement Friday. "We are happy to have helped her favorably close this chapter so that she can move forward and begin to finally heal."

Attorneys for Majors did not immediately respond to HuffPost's requests for comment.

Jabbari's lawsuit was filed three months after he was convicted by a Manhattan jury last December of assaulting her in a car. Majors, who has maintained his innocence in the allegations and accused Jabbari of being the instigator, was ordered to complete a year of counseling.

Jabbari, who's a professional dancer, went on to accuse Majors in her lawsuit of publicly casting her as a liar, causing "many people in the community to harass, bully, intimidate and even issue death threats to Jabbari."

Her complaint also cited additional instances of alleged assault by Majors against her, including a claim that he once threw her onto the hood of her car and hit her head against a marble floor while choking her.

Majors' lawyer, Priya Chaudhry, told HuffPost at the time of the suit's filing in March that it was "no surprise" and that her client was "preparing counterclaims against Ms. Jabbari."

Majors' acting career was rapidly taking off when the allegations first emerged, with him playing a Marvel villain in "Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania" and Adonis Creed's opponent in "Creed III."

Marvel Studios dropped him from future projects following his assault conviction.

This past June he was awarded the so-called "Perseverance Award" at the Hollywood Unlocked Impact Awards and earlier this month his engagement to actor Megan Good was announced at the Ebony Power 100 Gala in Los Angeles.
