AEW Dynamite's viewership still looks bad, even when it's not facing NXT

The ratings and viewership data are in for this week's (Oct. 16) episode of AEW Dynamite.

Per Wrestlenomics, Dynamite netted 633,000 viewers and a 0.20 rating in the 18-49 year old demographic. These numbers are way up from last week's Tuesday night war outlier when AEW was destroyed by NXT on The CW. However, viewers are down from the 680K that Dynamite drew two weeks ago in its regular night and time slot. The demo rating remains unchanged from two weeks ago.

Some of the notable competition Dynamite was facing last night included MLB and WNBA playoffs.

That AEW's total viewers are now closer to 600K than 700K looks alarming on the surface. Dynamite has yet to put up impressive numbers since announcing its new TV deal with WBD. Is the new angle featuring Jon Moxley's NWO-like war against AEW (perhaps with a silent Darby Allin playing the role of WCW's Sting) going to provide the spark that AEW needs to get hot? Stay tuned to find out.

Here's a breakdown of AEW Dynamite viewership and rating in the 18-49 demo over the last year:
