PETSMART has made some big updates to its customer loyalty program, which has 67 million members.
However, shoppers will have to spend upwards of $1,000 a year to unlock the biggest perks.
PetSmart has unveiled its new Treats Rewards program - an upgrade to it existing loyalty club.
With the new program, shoppers will experience a variety of benefits that can be unlocked with different tiers of membership.
Treats Rewards if free to join and allows customers to collect points, enjoy personalized perks, and shop member-only prices in-store.
The program is staggered in four tiers, each with an annual spend threshold.
All members will get personalized offers, plus existing loyalty program benefits like early access to sales and new products.
Loyalty customers will also benefit from members-only in-store pricing and a free gift on their pet's "gotcha day" or birthday.
Members will earn 10 points per $1 spent on merchandise or services.
Once 1,000 points have been accumulated, these can be redeemed for $2 off at the register.
Members can also rack up points by completing their Treats Rewards membership profile and by donating to PetSmart charities.
Members who shop online will benefit from free shipping on select online orders of $49 or more.
PetSmart says 93% of purchases made are connected to a Treats Rewards account.
The company has over 1,500 stores nationwide.
As well as merchandise, PetSmart also offers grooming, training, boarding, Doggie Day Camp, and veterinary services.
However, PetSmart is not the only major retailer that has recently updated its loyalty program.
This week, Albertsons relaunched it "Albertsons for U" program with some new changes.
Members can now accrue points with everyday purchases that they can manually redeem for various rewards.
Albertsons will grant customers one point for every $1 they spend on groceries.
