Lewis featured at Simmons Bank Championship event

Two-time LPGA major champion Stacy Lewis will be featured Monday as PGA Tour Champions Simmons Bank Championship week kicks off at Pleasant Valley Country Club in Little Rock.

Lewis (University of Arkansas) and Jael Thorpe, founder and CEO of Gameday Social Apparel, will highlight the Women's Leadership Summit presented by Baptist Health. Lewis will host a fireside chat beginning at 1 p.m. She recently captained the United States to its first victory over Europe in the Solheim Cup since 2017

The Leadership Summit will begin with registration and breakfast at 9:30 a.m. and end with a putting and short-game clinic by Lewis starting at 2:00 p.m. Other events on the program include lunch and panel discussions on financial, physical and mental health.

The inaugural Simmons Bank Championship tournament will be held Oct. 25-27 at Pleasant Valley. The tournament will serve as the second round of the PGA Tour Champions annual Charles Schwab Cup playoffs.

World Short Track Challenge slated for Riverside

The American Sprint Car Series national tour and United Sprint Car Series will hold a combo-event at the quarter-mile oval at Riverside International Speedway in West Memphis on Friday and Saturday night for the World Short Track Challenge.

Friday night's preliminary feature it worth $2,000 to win, while the winner of Saturday night's main event will collect $10,000.

Adult general admission tickets are $20 on Friday and $35 on Saturday. Children aged 6-11 get in for $5 and kids 5 and under get in free both nights. Pit passes are $35 on Friday and $40 on Saturday.
