TEHAMA COUNTY, Calif. -- The Tehama County Sheriff's Office (TCSO) is on high alert as the rain comes down and hazards rise.
According to Lieutenant Rob Bakken, areas like creeks, rivers, and even the burn scars left from the Park Fire, should be avoided during storms like this in case of flooding and mudslides.
Although nothing concerning has happened yet, Bakken said there is extra patrol, and Search and Rescue is on standby as they monitor the situation
"They should be prepared for possible power outages. They should have generators, flashlights, extra water, extra food, things like that, on standby," Bakken said.
He stressed to the community that people need to be on high alert for any power outages and if any emergency arises to immediately call 911.
Bakken also reminds people to be aware of the road conditions and to drive the speed limit or even below it.
