Texas QB Quinn Ewers Reportedly Undergoing Medical Procedure For Injury

Texas Longhorns quarterback Quinn Ewers didn't look like his usual self toward the end of Saturday's game. No. 3 Texas defeated Kentucky 31-14 at DKR-Texas Memorial Stadium to improve to 10-1 on the season (6-1 in SEC play).

Texas will enter Week 14 with a chance to clinch a berth in the SEC Championship Game with a win over their rival. The winner of Saturday's matchup between Texas-Texas A&M at Kyle Field will face Georgia Dec. 7 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta for the SEC championship.

The status of Ewers is up in the air for the contest. Ewers suffered an ankle injury during Saturday's win. The Junior quarterback out of Southlake, Texas was seen limping off the field following a second-quarter touchdown by running back Jaydon Blue.

Per Anwar Richardson of Yahoo Sports, Ewers will undergo a precautionary MRI on Sunday.

"Texas QB Quinn Ewers will undergo a precautionary MRI on Sunday after injuring his ankle against Kentucky, according to my sources," Richardson wrote. "Everyone close to the situation is cautiously optimistic Ewers does not have any structural damage and will only need ankle treatments this week."

Per the report, it appears Ewers will be healthy enough to start against Texas A&M, but Texas will need the MRI results to confirm.

Ewers finished Saturday's game going 20-of-31 passing for 191 yards and two touchdowns.

Backup quarterback Arch Manning did not come into the contest to relieve Ewers.

Ewers, an expected NFL draft pick in 2025, has thrown for 2,089 yards, 23 touchdowns and six interceptions this season.
